In the state of Hawaii, a patient can have access to their medical records at any time. Additionally, a patient’s attorney may have access as well, however, it may require approval of the patient’s Doctor.
By law, all Doctors and medical staff must maintain the privacy of all medical records. The only few exceptions to this law is when a patient is requiring an emergency procedure or if a doctor must share the health history in court.
