On March 28th, 1776, a man by the name of Juan Bautista De Anza would arrive on a piece of land that would become the major U.S. city known as San Francisco. After his arrival, Anza would start some work on the land. For example, he built a military fort on the San Francisco Peninsula. As a result, other would come to follow Anza and contribute to city’s development.
Anza would not get to see city grow and expand. However, in 1777, he would later be named the Governor of New Mexico.
